Youth Shine at local community event

The energy was high, the music was pumping and the popcorn was popping at Youth Shine.
Hosted by Logan Youth Network, Youth Shine brought the fun for Queensland Youth Week to a community event in Logan, and the Bridges Reconnect team joined in to celebrate the incredible young people in our community.
A welcoming space
More than 300 people came along to enjoy live music, a talent show, giveaways, art, volleyball, U-ball and all-round good vibes. There were free haircuts, resume tips, job info, and plenty of chances for young people to connect with services in a relaxed, welcoming space.

Bridges Reconnect joined the action with a stall full of fun activities, information and a much-loved popcorn machine.
Team Leader Tina Tarawhiti said Youth Week was a chance to recognise the strength and potential of Logan’s young people.
“Our teens face many challenges and community groups like Bridges Reconnect are passionate about supporting these young people and their families”
Tina Tarawhiti, Team Leader at Bridges Reconnect

A community that cares
Bridges Reconnect provides programs for Logan youth aged 12 to 18 who are homeless or at risk of homelessness and early intervention initiatives to foster more positive relationships with their family and the community.

A big thank you to our amazing Lutheran Services Bridges Reconnect team for the outstanding work you do in this space every day.
