Home Care Q and A with Melissa

Finding the right support to continue living independently at home can seem like a difficult experience. At Lutheran Services, our dedicated Client and Community Advisor team are available to answer all your questions and support your home care journey.  Melissa shares what inspires her most about her role. 

What do you love most about being a Client and Community Advisor? 

I love supporting our clients and their loved ones by guiding them through the home care journey. It’s so rewarding supporting clients from their initial inquiry until they are feeling happy, safe and supported receiving the individual care to live just the way they want, independently at home. I gain satisfaction knowing I’m helping lighten the load on families with services that are designed with love and care. 

 How do you help home care clients and families access the right level of support? 

I make myself available to answer any questions and I walk families step-by-step through what can seem overwhelming paperwork associated with applying for a Home Care package and accessing My Aged Care services. It’s important to me that our clients feel valued and well supported as we navigate the process together and connect them with the right care at the right time.
